Jouw rol:

Als Business Development Manager – Nederland ben je verantwoordelijk voor het opzetten en uitbouwen van Octave’s aanwezigheid in Nederland, in nauwe samenwerking met het bestaande salesteam in België.

• Je ontwikkelt en voert de go-to-marketstrategie uit voor Nederland, ondersteund door het commerciële & technische team in België.
• Je opent deuren, bouwt relaties op en sluit eerste commerciële deals en partnerships.
• Je werkt samen met installateurs, integratoren, energieleveranciers, asset owners en industriële klanten.
• Je bent de link tussen markt, product en operations: wat jij leert in gesprekken, neem je mee terug naar het team.
• Je vertegenwoordigt Octave op relevante events, beurzen en bij key stakeholders.
• Je legt de commerciële basis waarop later een Nederlandse organisatie kan worden gebouwd.

Bij succesvolle markttractie groeit deze rol natuurlijk mee richting Country Manager.

Wie ben jij:

• Je hebt ruime ervaring (7+ jaar) in B2B business development of sales binnen de energiesector.
• Je begrijpt hoe energiemarkten werken (energieopslag, flexibiliteit, EMS, hernieuwbare energie).
• Je bent technisch onderlegd genoeg om inhoudelijke gesprekken te voeren met engineers en partners.
• Een uitgesproken sales hunter-mentaliteit met een bewezen trackrecord in het openen van nieuwe markten of accounts.
• Ervaring met het opzetten en uitvoeren van commerciële strategieën in een context met beperkte bestaande structuur.
• Je werkt zelfstandig, neemt initiatief en werkt graag binnen een dynamische scale-upomgeving.
• Je bent resultaatgedreven, maar denkt ook strategisch mee op lange termijn.

• Ervaring met het opbouwen van een nieuwe markt of regio.

Your role

• Design, build, and operate real-time data pipelines, continuously ingesting and processing event streams from our IoT device fleet in production.
• Deliver and maintain curated, pre-aggregated datasets that power both internal use cases and internet-facing analytics dashboards.
• Own technical design discussions end to end: work closely with product, engineering, and operations to translate business needs into robust data solutions, evaluate real-world constraints (cost, performance, reliability), and drive alignment on pragmatic trade-offs.
• Take responsibility for data systems in production, including data quality monitoring, alerting, incident follow-up, and supporting downstream data applications.

What you bring to our team

• Proven production experience designing, building, and operating data systems, including:
  • Real-time data pipelines and streaming use cases
  • Batch ETL/ELT jobs
  • Data migrations and system integrations
  • Data modeling for analytical and operational workloads
• Strong stakeholder collaboration skills: ability to lead technical discussions, translate business needs into technical solutions, balance constraints (cost, performance, maintainability), and drive consensus on pragmatic trade-offs.
• Solid implementation experience in Python and SQL, with a track record of delivering production-ready systems, including testing, deployment, and CI/CD integration.
• Ownership mindset: willingness to be accountable for systems in production, including setting up data quality checks, monitoring, alerting, and actively following up on incidents or regressions.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to provision and maintain data and cloud resources in a repeatable, reliable way.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English.

If you have some (or all) of the following, you've got a clear advantage

• Knowledge of data security and privacy principles; familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, NIS2, CRA, or similar is a strong plus.
• Experience working with time-series data and data catalogs.
• Experience in non data-specific software projects (microservices, web framework, standalone apps,...).
• Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem, especially serverless services (or equivalent experience on another cloud provider).
• Exposure to technologies such as TimescaleDB, MQTT, pandas, and Protocol Buffers.
• Exposure to the energy management system (EMS) domain (asset management, energy markets, etc).
